Default The Man Who Lost Himself

"CFL play Terry Evanshen has no memory following a coma" will be a very touching story about his life.

I watched the real Terry Evanshen tell his story on "W5" yesterday and his road to recovery with no memory except what others have told him about his life. What an amazing man!!

Also the struggle his daughter had with Brain Cancer...

I will be taping that show tomorrow night and watch it on the weekend with a box of Kleenex

Those of you that get Canadian channels, it will be on CTV BC at 8:00 - 10:00 PM...check your local listings...

Who cares?

I wish I could forget certain aspects of my life as well sometimes. He should consider himself lucky, now he can sleep with as many gals as he wants and it won't actually be cheating on his wife because he doesn't remember her.

It's the oldest trick in the book except he's getting paid royalties off the movie rights.

Actually it is not a trick. Brain damage can cause that. Given that he has been in a coma, brain damage seems to be a reasonable assumption.

I remember seeing footage of another guy, who had a similar problem. Every morning he greeted his wife as if he were a stranger. But always also made comments on how lovely she was - which he did not do about other women.

But he could learn during the day, and he would forget during the night. So each day he would learn the same thing again. And forget.

But music was his passion, which started long before he met his wife. And even though he had no way of formally recognizing the music, he could still play it. And still be passionately inspired by it.

I watched the movie "The Man Who Lost Himself" and very wisely got a crying towel because I really needed it! I'm also glad I did see the man that this movie was based on last Sunday on "W5" just to see how far he had come.
I thought it was so difficult not only for him but his wife and three daughters. How difficult it must be to have your Husband and Dad in the house, but he is only the same in body, but a stranger in mind...

I'll have to check around and see if any cable channel we get will carry it in the future. Agreed, it WOULD be hard being around someone who doesn't remember who you are. Then again, if you p*ssed them off....they wouldn't remember the next day.
