Vautrin's post about the time difference got me to thinking, and since I'm just having fun on here today, decided I might as well relearn something, too! Maybe someone else wants to refresh their memory...

Before I started using forums, I did not gave much thought to time differences either - to be more precise only when I started communicating with the girl who would become my girlfriend I started to realize that it affects our lifes.
And I can tell you that I have spent quite a few nights staying up late as a result. She was in the US, but luckily on the East Coast, so it was only 6 hours of time difference with which we had to deal. Mostly I had to deal.

Now that she is in South Africa, which is even further away from me, time difference is only existent in the winter, and it is just a single hour. And nothing more.
Of course that is still far from ideal. But a lot easier to manage for the both of us.

Vautrin, you probably have had supper by now...or do you call it dinner? My husband will be coming for lunch soon...he gets an hour where at work we get a half hour. I like the half hour lunch because we also leave a half hour early, still get our eight hours...

I call it dinner, my girlfriend calls it supper. I don't know, but somehow I associate supper with eating in small portions. I am a big eater - although I am a bit underweight. Yep, I have had dinner for today.

Half-hour lunches are in general better. Unless you use lunch-time to run errands of course.
