What self-proclaimed terrorist would blow himself up in a car, instead of the bar, or whatever? If the object is to injure and kill people, you might as well do it in proximity to people, and not in the middle of nowhere in Alaska, or in a car.
Don't like it. We might as well run commercials:
"I can scream in your face, because I am American."
"I am Dutch, I am supposed to be cheap."
"Nothing more fickle than a French(wo)man."
"Italians are mama's bambinos."
Now, why do I have the impression that people would not see the humor of those commercials?

But it WOULD sort of be truth in advertising!
I know when I read/hear redneck or southern stereotyping.....some of it is exaggerated.....but so much of it is REALLY true!

Things may be true. But I think many Americans / Dutch / French or whatever would feel highly aggrieved if said commercials were run in other countries.
Because then it is not anymore a tool of reflection and appreciation of your own culture, but stereotyping a different culture in a negative way. If people knew such commercials about the Dutch were run in France or the US, they would probably feel more uncomfortable to speak up, and express themselves.

I'm not sure it actually ran as a commercial....but I do know had they run it over here....they would've sold lots of cars.
Sometimes poking fun at the things which concern you....makes it easier to live with. If a person thinks so little of their life to blow themselves, as well as others, up in a car....they opened themselves up to be mocked.

Yes. And it would probably also caused a lot of problems for the minority as well.
How would you feel, if an Arab-looking person came up to you, gave you a dollar, and say: "Scream in my face you <insert expletive>!" - somehow I think you would feel offended - yet at the same time it seems that commercials can have such effects. And if not you, other women would feel offended, uncomfortable and all that.
I can well imagine, that people who have a Polo say that it is not too great for Arabs, as they want to blow up things. It is different if the joke is made by Arabs than when it is made to Arabs - we have a lot of controversy over here about things you can only say if you are a Jew, especially with regards to the Second World War.
