The same can be said for everything in life really.

It's really just meant to give folks something more to do around here to interact further. I'm no chess champion by any means, I thought I was good until I faced a good chess player who took me in 4 moves.

Maybe this will give those who are interested, the chance to learn the game a bit more and those who already know it, more seasoning and deeper understanding of the setups involved in luring your opponent into traps.

Chess is a difficult game, but with practice you can come quite far.

I don't see any harm in taking the game for a spin around here once the addon is out of Beta stage and stable. If we don't like it, we can always drop it.

Although I would wonder how you would organize the logistics? With regards to time, deciding on moves, and who may decide moves.

If I understand it correctly, it's only something you can do as two players and you only get one move until such time as your opponent moves.

Ya, but you could perhaps create a subforum dedicated to such a game. In which a team can discuss strategies before making a move. This is of course not limited to chess alone.
