Doom 3 Movie

This is something I've had rolling around in the back of my mind since I first started playing this awe-inspiring game. I'll be making a two-part movie (for lack of a better term).

The first part will be a small teaser trailer that I'm hoping I can use only ingame sounds for with some type of musical finale. The full video will have musical accompaniment and may not be complete till sometime after Christmas.

That would be cool. I'm almost at Mars City which must be getting close to the end of the game. I have been through hell and back (literally) and now the game has gone from scary and suprising to extremely action packed and, at times, unfair. It's not uncommon to be attacked from all sides by baddies with high hitpoint counts as well as quick slashers that get at your knees and cut you to bits.

I must say, this game has way gone beyond meeting my expectations and I can't wait to see how it ends. I have never played a game that takes the player this deep into emotion and wires you up to the point where you have to walk away.

K Paul I do need your help.

First off, I need you to promote the movie on your site and offer a mirror for dl'ing upon it's completion. I will do the same here and at SI.c. Also, a news article on the front page wouldn't hurt either. ;-)

Secondly, I'm capturing footage (I have over 7 GB for one scene alone) and need help with story. I'm not sure how I want to tell the story but I want it to encompass the following elements:
- storyline: the basic concept between what's happening on Mars, who's involved and what the consequences are.
- music: I have no idea what to use but it MUST blend with the ambient sounds in the game. Some parts of this movie will be ingame sounds only.
- hax: I need help with some of the controls when filming. For the life of me, I can't seem to get a smooth camera pan effect with the NOCLIP cheat. I'n not sure how to combat this and it is the reason that my [d0n] CoD movie died. It wasn't an issue in my IL 2 FB video.
- power message: this will be for the 1 - 2 minute teaser trailer to be released prior to the actual movie.

did you try turning the settings down for the noclip? especially if you pan out of the map location into another one. the poor computer will grind along trying to eat all those textures.

The problem isn't choppy movement due to rendering. The choppiness comes from not being able to control the speed at which I move throughout the map. I haven't figured out a way to slow the speed of NOCLIP to a virtual crawl. If you use the cheat and move forward, you'll notice that you move way too quickly. The problem with this is it's virtually impossible to traverse a distance with corners, staircases, etc., without a lot of stop and go filming. It looks rediculous.

Maybe I'll record a miniclip to let you guys see what I'm talking about.

Don't know how to control the speed of it or if you can, had the same problem with CoD as well. Have no problem helping with hosting the file or even making it but you need to tell me specifically when you want or need me because otherwise I'll be just out spending money and doing things I shouldn't.

I need help with script, you determine when you do it but I can't put anything together unless I have a vague idea of the end message.

I only have my daughter till Saturday nite this weekend so we can get together then or Sunday sometime.

Sorry, slept in then fixed xbox dvd-rom to read dvd-r media and then fixed my voip gateway issues which have been plaguing me for months now (yay!) so it's a little late. I'm rebuilding a computer the rest of tonight but hit me up if you get on MSN and we'll cook something up!

I'm really in no hurry. I think the games going to be around for some time yet as the mod community is pretty strong.
