Daytime Soaps

Do you watch daytime soap operas? Which is your favorite?

I don't. I used to when I didn't work. I liked General Hospital then. I imagine I could turn it on today and figure out the gap in a couple shows.

I don't. Although in the field I am occupying myself (SA Media), the field and its relationship to politics is a soap opera on its own.

There are a few soaps going on at my work too. Those are sometimes fun to watch.

Here goes: When I was growing up and during the summer I would watch "Guiding Light", "As the World Turns" and "The Edge of Night" (my favourite).

Then when I got married and was a stay-at-home Mom, I watched "All My Children". Somewhere along the line someone told me I should be watching "The Young and The Restless".

When I went to work I continued to watch "The Young and The Restless" by taping it and a co-worker and I talked about what Victor, Nikki, Jill, Jack, and Phyllis were up to..

When I left to go to my current job approximately six years ago, I quit watching any soap....uh...except "Desperate Housewives" if it can be called a Soap....that is now my favourite all-time show! So incredibly acted, So well-written; no matter what you think might happen, we're always pleasantly surprised and have a good laugh over it at the bus stop Monday mornings!

My mom used to watch Young and the Restless and As the World Turns. I watched As the World Turns as I was growing up and watched Young and the Restless a bit along with General Hospital when I was in college and as a stay at home mom. I don't care for them anymore.
