Computer Games -vs- PS 2/ X Box/etc

My son really enjoys the PS2 games. Instead of splitting up the finances towards both computer and separate unit games....I would rather only invest in puter games.

Do you guys play both or what is your thoughts on this? Pro and con either way?

I only play PC games. For me, it's all about the visuals, control configuration, and variety. You simply don't get the graphics on any platform that you do on PC simply because options are limited in platforms.

Mind you, to play the newer PC games you really have to buy a gaming machine and that will cost you considerable dollars unless you know where to buy and exactly what to look for. You also need Processor Speed, RAM and a good video card. These things add up quickly and are constantly being made better, faster and more expensive.

It's ALL expensive. I know the new PS2 game coming out tomorrow....San Adreas?...which is a part of the Grand Theft Auto or Vice City or whatever the heck group of games.....is over $50.

There all part of the same game. Essentially these versions are part of a growing storyline, I think.

I choose the PC above the consoles also because of reasons Duke mentioned.

Then again.. try to play a FPS (First Person Shooter) with a gamepad..

About San Andreas, its a new part of the Grand Theft Auto series, but with better graphics, new features, etc..

I love computer for the same reasons as Duke, however Xbox is a lot of fun too because you can take it to a buddies house and link it to his so all of your friends can sit around until the sun comes up the next morning playing games on the 54" tv! (not speaking from years of experience at all... ok maybe kinda)

I prolly will buy a console sometime in the distant future but that will likely be a XBOXNext, XBOX 2, or X2 (whatever their gonna call it) or a PS 3.
