It's getting tougher and tougher to use money these days without worrying if it's faked, they scan most of the bills and many places here won't even accept 100 dollar bills.

nope, there's no such law here that I'm aware of. I think it's the stores right to refuse money that has a high percentage of being counterfit such as our $100 has.

a lot of corner stores will scan all bills. I lost a 5.00 bill at a store. it was counterfeit. I couldn't believe it!
It's hard to get rid of 100.00 bills around here. you basically either have to go to a grocery store or a gas station. same thing with the 50.00 bills.

I don't even go to the teller anymore, I'll get cash from my ATM (still free) and it's all dispensed in 20's.

I really have no idea but someone's obviously making money at it because it's become such a big problem many stores are arming themselves with ultraviolet scanners.

it's serious here too. i think it would be a serious offence in any country.
I go to the bank machine too. i never go to a teller. they'll give you the 100.'s and 50's knowing full well that nobody accepts those anymore.

There were a lot of problems here in the US with large bills until they changed them....and now they can basically be checked with one of those 'color pens'...which all store clerks have.
I rarely have any 'large' bills to get rid of though....haha! |
