I saw this movie a few years ago with a girlfriend at the time. All I remembered about it was that I thought it was a really great movie but couldn't remember why. Earlier tonight I saw it on a store shelf for 14 bux so I picked it up and man, what a great movie.

The movie stars Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz and is a true story based off of events in the life of George Jung. Essentially, it's a look back over the ups and downs of his life and how he did everything he could to carve a life different from the life his father (who he loves and respects very deeply) did. His life does turn out much differently than his fathers but not in the way he had expected.

It's really a fantastic movie. Yes the story focuses mainly on the drug trade but that shouldn't stop you from checking it out if you get the chance. If I had to rate this movie out of 10 I'd likely give it and 11 or 12, it's just that good.

Great movie, loved it as well, I'm thinking of digging through my downloaded DVD collection and giving it a look-see again sometime this week.
