Dreams where you die
Anybody ever have those?
I think I've had at least five like that.
Two of them I was shot at point-blank range.
The first of those was when I was living in an apartment and I dreamt I woke up from a dream, it was dark and went to answer the door. Upon opening it, I saw this black glove holding a gun and it shot me in the chest. That definitely woke me out of my real sleep. That would have been in the mid-90s.
More recently, I was looking through the front door's peephole and was shot through the peep-hole. I must say, I'm getting rather tired of people shooting me.
I've had conceptual-type deaths as well, the most recent happens a number of weeks ago... there was this line of people I was with, and we were inside a cavern where the walkway spiraled downward from the sides of the cave. Upon reaching the bottom was this door. This door opened into a room with a looooong dining counter (keep in mind people are still in a line, except now in this part everybody has a seat on a counter seat). At the end of the counter was another door leading to "the other side." Everytime I would move down one counter seat, the lunch meal would float along, which was nice and convenient. Anyway, upon reaching the end of the line, it was kind of like judgement time. It was also the time for "letting go." There were a few people grieving that I was leaving, but I had fairly quickly "let go" and was able to proceed through the door (the door didn't open, I just appeared on the other side, where I was in a nice, outdoor setting, free of the world I had left behind. And that was the end of that dream.

Re: Dreams where you die
I am so horrified of death (can't stand guns, shooting, and other activites that are supposed to be lethal) that I wake up when someone is pulling the trigger so to speak.
So I never die, I always get a reprieve.

Re: Dreams where you die
I don't recall having a dream where I died.
The last one you mentioned, CCC, about 'letting go'; did that mean you felt very Peaceful?
Frightening dreams.

Re: Dreams where you die
I had one where my mom tried to kill me. That was weird, and I warned her when I woke up that I would probably be a jerk to her that day for her trying to kill me in my dream.

Re: Dreams where you die
I've woken up in tears after dreaming that my sister/niece/nephew/dog had died. Dreams can be very real and very odd all at once.

Yes, very peaceful.
That one wasn't so bad. It's the ones where you get shot can be very jarring.

Re: Dreams where you die
Also weird are dreams about people who are dead in real life, but return in my dreams and I know in my dream that they're suppose to be dead.

Shot
To dream that you are shot, represents a form of self-punishment that you may be unconsciously imposing on yourself. You may have done something that you are ashamed of or are not proud of. If you are shot and come back as a different person, then it indicates that you to start fresh. You want to wipe the past away and literally become a new person.
|
Quote:
Death
To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.
To dream of your own death, indicates a transitional phase in your life. You are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Alternatively, you are trying desperately to escape the demands of your daily life.

Quote:
Die
To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or in your life. Although such a dreams may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm and is often considered a positive symbol. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.
On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation.
To see someone dying in your dream, signifies that your feelings for that person are dead or that a significant change/loss is occurring in your relationship with that person. Alternatively, you may want to repress that aspect of yourself that is represented by the dying person.

Re: Dreams where you die
Happy now Faye? Issue was caused by a [left] tag issue. I later saw that the font was a bit messed up, so I fixed that as well.

Re: Dreams where you die
I dream that die with my true love, Mikey. I'm lying next to him in a field of daisies. His loving arms wrapped around me, oh wait, they won't fit all the way, well as far as they will reach. LOL.
