Default First Heartbreak

My daughter who is almost 13 has had a "boyfriend" for the past month. This kid is in her class and he's really a good kid. Of course being as young as they are, this is nothing serious (they don't even kiss or hug) but on friday when she came home from school she was crying and so sad. I knew right away it had to do with "kenny". He apparently broke off with her so that he didn't have to have a girlfriend when he goes to the YMCA once a month dance. She was sooo crushed!! Her poor little heart was all broken into pieces the poor little thing.

So she went to the dance and kenny was there. she slept over at a friend's house all weekend. I picked her up tonight and she tells me that kenny was begging her forgiveness and to take him back. so she did. she said he didn't dance with anyone but her. She's so happy again! I find this so cute.

I remember my first "boyfriend" when I was her age and how crushed i was when his family up and moved away. I cried for weeks! My mother didn't know how to handle it. ah!! to start over again and have the innocent puppy love thing going.

I hate the mental images that pop into my head over a young girl crying, breaks my heart.

da there's nothing to figure out. We're the same species with exactly the same range of emotions, thoughts and feelings. One sex is more in touch with emotional stimuli, the other with physical. We are the same and once you start viewing it that way maybe things will start coming your way.

It did break my heart to see my baby crying over a boy. I would've done anything to take away the pain in her heart. It didn't last long though. a day later she's happy again. Until the next time.

i never said that the emotions were any different, or that my friends were male or female.
