The Choking Game

I caught a little of this on "Oprah" last week, and it freaked me out!! Have you heard about this deadly game to get high on that kids are trying out...some as young as 8 years old? Frightening!!! 8O

I had not heard of it with kids. I have heard of it or something similar with adults who do it to heighten their pleasure during sex but I don't think the adult version involves passing out. Weird. I don't think I would get excited if someone were choking me. It is sad what our children do to get a thrill. They are so desensitized to everything that they get bored easier and are finding extreme ways to alleviate it.

One of the reasons I joined this site is because a good friend of mine almost lost his son to drowning after drinking way too much at a beach party and then going into the Gulf of Mexico. He is now severely brain damaged. I hate the society we have become in a lot of ways.

I've heard of this before. I'm guessing it made Operah because kids can actually die from it.

i heard about it a few months ago, but it is stupid for kikds to do it. my parents told my sister not to do it.

This was a concern when my oldest son was young. It's good that talk shows bring it up so parents are aware and can warn their kids about the dangers of it.

As tkdlady pointed out....it's also a sexual thing among older teens and adults.

I can't see where gasping for air would turn me on....but people are WIERD out there!

This is old, they were doing this when I was a kid and I thought it was stupid then and dangerous. I don't get the sexual thing...

i was going to say, they were doing that when i was little in the playground.

as for the sex thing...a girl i slept with once tried to get me to do that to her....it freaked me out, and that was the last time i slept with her.

I worked with a guy who was all into that. The rest of us thought he was a FREAK!
