Default World Food Day October 16th

http://www.house.gov/list/hearing/mo...ol_031016.html

"Parents watching their children suffer from hunger feel desperation, hopelessness and anger - whether in Montana or Mozambique. The conditions that create hunger contribute to local and regional instability, hostility, war and terror.

A dramatic reduction of world hunger in our lifetime is within our reach. World Food Day reminds us of the challenge that remains before us. Our goal is to transform World Food Day into a celebration of the end of hunger, rather than a reminder of how many millions still do not have enough to eat."

The sad part about World Food Day, is that we actually produce enough food to feed 12 billion people.

Another reason (one of many) that I love the Company I work for is that at Christmastime we donate cans or boxes of food for the local food bank. Last year they had a contest which area would bring the most food...it's great!!

Too bad that those food banks are needed.

Over here, they have increased manifold in the past 4 or 5 years, mainly as a result of government policies & cutbacks which were disproportionally aimed at the poorest people.
