May 26th

1926 - Al Jolson, the singer, was born
1926 - So was Miles Davis
1907 - John Wayne was born
1953 - The first 3D sci-fi film opened
1969 - The Apollo 10 returns to Earth
1994 - Michael Jackson marries Lisa Marie Presley

A grand idea started by Merika, great way to learn History, too

1896 - 255 people were killed when a tornado struck St. Louis and E. St. Louis

1933 - Walt Disney's Academy Award-winning animated short "The Three Little Pigs" was first released

1937 - the Newly completed Golden Gate Bridge connecting San Francisco and Marin County, Calif.m was opened to the public

1941 - The British navy sank the German battleship Bismarck of France, 2,300 lives lost.

1993 - five people were killed in a bombing at Uffizi museum of art in Florence, Italy; three dozen paintings were ruined or damaged

1995 - Christopher Reeve was left paralyzed when he was thrown from a horse at a jumping event in Charlottesville, Va.

2001 - Indy rooke Helio Castroneves won the Indy 500.
