Well carols by candlelight is pretty popular among families, no one really goes to it unless they have young children. But in public venues in all major capital cities, and even smaller cities, the government arranges a carols by candlelight thing where even famous people might come to sing, and you sing along too, and you light candles, and the children have glow sticks.

Alot of what is said there is more stereotypes and not entirely true about Australia. They are more talking about the british Australians. Since a majority of Australians are Greeks, Italians, Macodonians, Lebanese, Kurdish, and other countries in the same region, the activities at christmas differ heaps.

Australians with British and Irish backgrounds leave tips for the grocer, postman, newspaper carrier, and others to thank them for their help in the past year.
No one does this lol. For one, it is a public holiday and there arnt grocers open, second we don't even have news paper carriers, unless you sign up for a subscription to get delivered, then it is prepaid, and we don't pay postmen. Thought I would clear that up to keep our reputation of being really cheap up:P
