Parents’ Primer on School Bullying

Those who reported the most bullying behaviour had received more forceful, physical discipline from their parents, had viewed more TV violence and showed more misconduct at home. 32% lived with a stepparent, and 36% lived in a single-parent household. Bullies generally had fewer adult role models, more exposure to gang activity and easier access to guns. This partly explains why bullies need help as victims do; they learn their behaviour by example.

Many boys who bullied continue their behaviour in later life. As adults, they are at increased risk for criminality, marital violence, child abuse and sexual harassment.

I really dislike bullies. I had one when I was in grade 6. It didn't last too long though as I finally got fed up and knocked his block off. He never bothered me again. My mom & dad were always against violence, but I didn't get in trouble for that one.

My second cousin used to take my sandwiches from my lunch. His family had money and we were poor! To this day, when I think of him, I get a bad taste in my mouth. I haven't seen him in years and that's just okay!
