Re: What happened to Fayebelle?
Yes there is that "playing chicken" sort of game. Do I stay and hope it isn't bad or do I leave and find out it is a thunderstorm with a little bit of wind? Do I leave today or can it wait another day? I don't live right on the coast so we have always just stayed. We watched Opal from our garage after the power went out. I am more afraid of the tornadoes that get generated. But I knew people who evacuated and on the road out got hit with a tornado while we were fine here. So you are damned if you do and damned if you don't maybe. At least, with a hurricane, you can see it coming, you have some warning and have time to decide.
