Yeah, my fiance is the same way. We almost broke up because he felt like he didn't have a problem, and that his actions were totally normal.
I know my limits, and I can't handle constant alcohol fueled outbursts.
I was like, "Well, if it's so important to you that you can't lay off the bottle, then you can leave and go back to your mom's house. Make sure you tell her why you're coming home to her."
To make a long story short, he is more careful with his drinking now. His mother still doesn't like me due to the fact that I don't put up with what she has. Ah well, I can't help being strong willed as I am.
My parents never drank around me, and so I never saw first hand what alcohol can do to someone's life until I experienced it second hand with my fiance.
