I used to do more church related work....now I do more political related work. I've never really done anything for a specific charity....other than a few bucks and clothes donations.
If I had lots of money, and one day I may, I would want to build homes for unwed mothers for don't have mom's like Star. A place where they can have their babies and live while they persue school or work goals till they can get on their feet. It would be nice to at least give them 6 months of refuge away from a judgmental world who won't help them.
I don't think a young poor girl, separated from the suppport of her family for any number of reasons, and is without a home loves her baby any less than someone who has financial means. I don't think it's fair to ask her to give up her baby just because she is not able to take care of it by herself. It's the least, as a society, that we should do.
Sorry....it's one of my major political soapboxes.
