Until he's stable enough to clearly distinguish factual from fictional behaviours, I'm trying to avoid books, movies, and any other media that has the heroic/insane/criminal theme.
But it sounds like a great movie for ME.

I'd agree Scott; if you feel your son is easily influenced by abhorrent behavior in movies then I think your fears of him seeing it are valid. I heard today in one of the previews that this Joker is a troubling character in that how do you fight someone who truly doesn't care?
I think we won't see the level of humor that Jack Nicholson introduced, what we'll see in the Dark Night is of a more dark and sadistic nature.
If you are thinking of seeing it yourself though Scott you may want to check out Batman Begins first and form your own opinions of the movie. As I said earlier I simply loved it because it was what I believed to be a serious mix of story telling, character development, and action presented in a very Film Noir fashion. I simply wasn't expecting what I saw because I grew up on the Batman Series. It was a breath of fresh air to see a comic book character evolve into a symbol of crime fighting without the amusing anecdotes popular in all super hero movies including Spiderman, Superman, etc.
