Of course.
Teachers should be people that kids like to be around. Often this means they are a bit essentric, because kids tend to like animation. This means that the closer a teacher is to being Bugs Bunny, the better teacher they are.
The problems arise when Teachers cannot break out of this animated character, and this can understandably be a fine line. How they deal with administrators, parents, and serious psychological/emotional problems they find in the classroom must reflect a level of maturity well beyond Bugs Bunny's.
It takes some skill to be able to navigate across this boundry, and many teachers simply give up trying. They choose the safe option: Be Deadly Serious 100% of the time. No teacher has lost their job because their kids were bored in science class.
