Schatzberg hasn't called back, but I've done more research into the subject: of using Mifepristone as a
FIRST LINE INTERVENTION drug for the treatment of psychotic depression.
There is some controversy and late as 2006 over the statistical methods used to evaluate results:
Home.
There is a Phase III study that is currently recruiting ADULT patients. Schatzberg is the Study Director. Unhappily, Andrew is 14, well below the 18 yo minimum age. I'm not sure any US physician could perscribe mifepristone outside the Clinicaltrials.gov (Identifier NCT00185926). The contact is:

The study completion date is targeted for March 2010. You would need to be able to be available at Stanford Hospital for 22 days (4 nights). I wonder if they pay room and board? I think this could be a nice vacation, especially during the summer when the SF Bay area is especially temperate.
Frankly, rather than wait for the study results, I wonder if simply getting a perscription for Mifepristone wouldn't be possible and taking the study assigned intervention 1200 mg for 8 days wouldn't allow individuals to arrive at their own conclusions.
