Default Re: Parents Don't Understand Their Children's Beha

Our laws are different and so is our structure within our countries. My apologies. Our country was founded on the Judeo Christian Belief. With that belief, there are certain moral behaviors that our laws have been based on.

Promoting the usage of marijuana is considered wrong here, because in most states of the United States, it is illegal to use, carry, buy or sell. It doesn't make someone a bad person, but it is bad to use unless you like serving jail time.

In some communities, promoting the use of marijuana is just as bad as recruiting a band of Gang Members to perform a crime. So yes, in that reguard, you are judged on your appearance. Similar to whether you wear a blue or red bandanna, because that means you either belong to "The Crips" or "The Bloods" Gangs.

Where you see judgement on what Americans wear on the surface, we see it as organized crime. I'm definately not talking about what Gucci purse to wear here and how well you'll fit in with the in crowd.

How do teens learn what to wear matters to their friends? Haha, true, some adults love name brand clothing and pass the obsession on to their kids. True, adults gossip about other adults probably infront of their kids and pass on the idea that if you wear off brand clothing, you are ugly. (Of course, television, marketing schemes ect. can also be blamed.)

In the grand scheme of who taught who what, teens do come up with off the wall things that their loyal followers must act, dress, talk like in order to be in their clique. If you've ever heard an adult say, "I hated High School Games," you'd know that the teens made things so much worse than the adult friends we live around now do.

As far as wanting to be accepted by a group of friends, it has a lot to do with their environment, their emotional well-being and alas, human nature. People need people, it is in our design. How much we need them, for what things; often depends upon our emotional and mental status.

Even in the adult world, there is going to be a charismatic leader and a few loyal followers. Very few stand alone in a corner and if they do, they are often thought of as anti-social or have some mental dilemma.
