Well a nice guy he's turning out to be.. Isn't your girlfriend seeing this? Why is she even still talking to the guy. Time to give him the boot I'd say...
And if they'd been in Morocco he'd already be in jail for the felony assault, and a few cops would be explaining him that is a bad thing by using less official methods then in the states. And he'd be sharing his cel with 40 guys who'd consider assault one of their friendlier acts
Oh, and don't break his face, that's felony assault as well :P.
