I think for many of us the fear of pitbulls is not only fed by what we see in the media but for what we've experienced personally. My fear stems from what is the breed (or any breed) capable of with in dire circumstances.

Of course in my personal experience, only criminals had pitbulls (no joking). I'm not saying your a criminal so no offense, I'm merely stating these guys had a dog who they knew would protect their sh1t.

I think what scares me the most about pitbulls is they are not as obviously as offensive or guarding as Dobermans or German Shepard's. These dogs try and climb the fence, dig through concrete or what have you to get at your throat; you know their there and pissed about your being there. What worries me about Pitbulls is they don't usually seem to demonstrate this behaviour, they'll let you in but you'll never get out.

Again, this is based purely off personal experience so no offense meant.
