Default Dreaming I'm not human

First of all I'd like to say, great forum section!
I remember a lot of my dreams vividly, especially the good and remarkable ones. For some reason I forget a lot of my nightmares within the first 5 minutes of waking up, although I still remember a dozen of those very well.
Sometimes I help myself remembering dreams by making drawings of them right after waking up, sometimes even maps. I wrote a few down as well (must be still around in a box with memorabilia somewhere). It's not that I look at the drawings or stories often, it's more that the actual drawing itself and writing down itself helps me to imprint the dream in my memory.

Anyway, back to my topic title, dreaming I'm not human.

This is a dream I had about 12 years ago, but I still remember it because it was the one and only time that I first off all dreamed I wasn't myself (although in some sort of way I was, I know, confusing), but most of all, I wasn't human.

I was a bird.

Don't ask me what kind of bird, because I have no idea. I didn't look at myself in the dream. I do have a bit of an idea how large a bird I was because of the surroundings, about 20 cm (8 inches). The main reason I wasn't looking at myself was because I spent my time looking at a couple of other things. First of all my nest (it was on the ground), complete with 2 chicks. Yep, I had 2 baby birds and they were definately mine, even though the dream left me with no clue if I was a male or female bird that was looking after his/her chicks. The chicks looked like most chicks, ugly little (bright white) fluffy things, with a pink belly shining through, eyes still closed and probably with little resemblance to what a fullgrown bird of the same species would look like.

I didn't fly at all, I either sat on the nest, or walked around close to the nest looking for worms. (lol)
When I was on the nest I remember like shaking my booty to get the feathers on my belly to fold around the two chicks beneath me, and using my beak to keep them there. I also remember having a continous fascination with folding loose ends of straw back into the nest with my beak.

Now and then I would leave my nest and would walk around and look for worms. I was on a pasture like area, but I couldn't see far bacause there were reasonably high clumps of grass surrounding the nest, with just wide enough low grass in between for me to walk between the large clumps of grass. Finding worms wasn't much of a problem for some reason, but I felt extremely worried each time I would leave the nest and felt like I was constantly fighting the urge to run straight back to the nest to check up on my chicks. On returning to the nest I sometimes had to chase a chick back into the nest because it wandered like 3 steps or so from the nest, then I would feed them the worms and go back to my sitting routine.

The dominating feeling I had throughout the dream and even after waking up was a feeling of being extremely worried. Why on earth an at that time about 26 year old guy is dreaming he's a bird with two chicks is a complete mystery to me
