We seem to be growing a bit with each passing month. There has definitely been a noticeable change between the old site (phpnuke/bbtonuke/phpbb) and the new site (joomla/SEF Advance/vBulletin/VBSEO). Our page views have doubled and look to be on the verge of tripling within the next couple of months.
Hint:
Hits is the apples to apples number comparison between the new site and the old one (see below):
The problem we now face is improving upon the Unique Visitor Statistics. Even though we've managed to nearly triple our exposure in this area this year, the goal is to reach 100 x our old numbers.
This is the reason for a slow news page with all stories seeing close to 20 edits with the average number being around 28 - 30 edits/story. While we've lost all of our old news content, we've replaced it with far less stories but with much higher quality content.
The same can be said for the forums as forum structure is (I believe) at it's most focused since the site began. We still have a lot of work to do in this area but I'm confident we'll eventually end up with a good balance of seriousness, education, lightheartedness and forum intimacy.
With your help, I think we can get to the point where it’s no longer a question of the odd member trickling in here and there but more a question of people joining due to the obvious helpfulness of the environment we provide.
