I believe this special tries to make us see a different side of the Dragon, one of a loving parent that will give it's life for its young.
Man has a nasty habit of chasing animals away from their habitat as he systematically destroys the Earth in his quest for comfort. If Dragons did actually exist and they did hurt humans, can it not be construed more as self defense rather than just plain nastiness?
Man is afraid of animals that don't instinctively run and hide from him. Every year we shoot and kill animals such as bears, alligators, coyotes, lions, etc., and for what, because they invaded our territory and put our fellow man at risk? Is this fair given it was the animals land (not ours) in the first place?
I think we're tyrants of the natural world. You would think with all this technology and all the advancements we've made as a species that we'd be able to give back to mother nature rather than continually rape her.
I know my response has gone way off topic so maybe I'll split it in interests of another article but I just wanted to put some perspective on our "fear" of animals. I believe many of these animals fear us more than we fear them but they will do whatever they can to defend themselves (as we do) yet we persecute them for it.
