You're also among friends here so I'd learn to trust our feelings a bit more than that of some idiot. This is a bold statement I admit but the fact is, it's best to consider the source especially if it comes to their distorted judgment of you vs your own self image.

I'm prolly not explaining myself all that well but the message is this, if you can turn to people you feel confident won't judge you then you have a much better chance of beating any mental barrier. I personally think that in facing the issues, you stand a much better chance of learning from it rather than bottling it up inside and/or hiding from the truth.
