Makes no sense to me. Children are able to play games like UT2k3 and all that, CNN and other stations are allowed to have embedded reporters in war conflicts, with footage showing up at the insanest of hours. Not to mention the thousands of series and movies with extremely violent content, where actually (think you) see dead bodies, bullets piercing bodies, etc. Not hard to get access to, especially if a family has 3 or 4 televisions in the house.

I've actually seen death, betrayal, lies, stealing, etc., on cartoons as my daughter ages and can't believe they would allow that but we can't see coyote take two rounds from a shotgun to his face.
Not too happy about the death part. But the rest is sadly a part of life, one should not be ignorant of. These days, if people can screw you, there are quite a number of people who would. However, whether such content is appropriate for all ages....

One of the first cartoons I saw was of Donald Duck. I was 3 years old or so, and my parents just had their first video-recorder. I saw it over, and over and over again. Why? Probably because of his anger attacks - not too enlightening either. But if Enlightenment were the criterion, I'd estimate that at least 90% of everything that is on, would be banned :S.
