That of course assumes I don't try and pick up an older mobo that uses RDRAM. Right now I'm not in the financial position to pick up a Core2 Duo and move to DDR along with SATA drives and PCIE cards. I've way too much money invested in AGP and IDE to start over, regardless of how much sense it makes.
This time around, I'm making the correct decision based off of dollar values and a future plan. I can likely replace my mobo now for next to nothing but moving to a decent Core 2 (likely extremem) w/ 1 GB FSB will cost me an arm and a leg and I'm nowhere near financially stable enough to make the move.
If I can secure something along the lines of an 850E w/800 Mhz FSB at around a 3.2 - 3.4, I'll be happier than a pig in sh1te.
