Everyone who has a dedicated, 24/7/365 connection to the net, has the ability to become a server but there are things you have to consider when doing so:

- does your ISP allot you enough bandwidth?
- will you be running a dedicated server (nothing else runs on your local machine)?
- are you taking necessary server level precautions against attack (.dos)?
- can your machine handle the traffic?
