The server was experiencing all kinds of issues from apparent .dos attacks to server load problems and who knows what else. I foud the sites to be unresponsive a number of times yesterday and contacted tech. support at least two or three times.
The best thing you can do at times like this is get into the habit of copying/pasting your larger posts into an external editor such as Microsoft Word. This way if you lose your post on site you can retrieve it from your external program.
