I awoke this morning with so much happiness
even before I realized it was your Birthday
and that was the reason!
So I lay there with a smile and happy tears
streaming down my face
Because some years ago on this day
YOU were born!

I know when I'm not winning in a conversation
I use the only comeback I can
And tell you about the pain I suffered when you were born
But that's not really how it is
I would glady go through it again
Holding the little one that grew up to be
Such a fine, wonderful, sensitive, witty man
That you are!

I want to thank you for everything
For the privilege of being your Mother
For the honour of seeing you grow
Witnessing your beautiful Artistry
Spending so many hours sketching
so the drawing would be perfect
I'm looking at one now, it's flawless
Just like everything you touch!

I love you so much, and it's an absolute honour
to tell anyone and everyone
How fortunate that God chose ME to be your Mom!
