Wow star, congradulations. I can't imagine being in your shoes and having to make the choices you've faced over the past while. I think you've done very well considering circumstances.
That said, I did understand the adoption idea but couldn't imagine having to do it myself either. Taking the baby home is likely the right decision but I do believe it's imprerative that your daughter plays the roll of mom (whether she likes it or not). If you think your hurting right now, imagine how sad you'll feel when the child asks why you love her more than mommy does.
BTW, with all of this other drama, I've totally forgotten to congradulate you on the upcoming addition to your family. I think you'll make a terrific, loving, warm gradmother and I wish you and your family all the best.
