Merika, beware. The murder rate in Johannesburg is (one of) the highest in the world. If you thought safety is an issue in the US, in SA it is even moreso the case. But it is also the financial heart of South Africa - plenty of opportunity.

Climate is almost perfect there as well:
1. dry winters
2. warm winters (15 degrees during the day) - although isolation and heating in houses is rare, so it can get a bit cold at night
3. warm summers
4. no hurricanes

I can imagine living there
