Okay, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I respect the fact that you all are scared of these dogs. I once was also.

A friend of mine had a 6 week old Pit puppy that he was going to take to the pound if he couldn't find anyone to take it. It was a gift to him and he just didn't have time for a new puppy. So against my better judgement I took this puppy.

I've never regreted this decision. This puppy, who is 3 now, is the most loving devoted friendly dog you could want. She's not aggressive in any form. She only barks at you when she wants you to pet her. I would trust a small child around her any day of the week, providing you didn't mind the child being soaked with droll from being licked. However, I would never leave a small child in the room with my 6 pound Tibeten Terrier. She'd be like 100x more likely to bite them and cause an injury.

It's absurd to punish the breed because of neglegent owners. You can make ANY dog mean and aggressive. It's because of sensationalized media stories that Pits get the short end of the stick.

Punish the owners not the breed.
