You think? I think getting dumped would be worse as you have no control. No matter what the situation, people who retain emotional control find it easier to manage in the short term than those that don't. There is some evidence, however, that in the long term those that walk out find it more difficult as they often question their decision. I'm trying to remember where I read the research, if I find it I'll post the link. I wonder if that means that if you do both (walk out by getting yourself dumped) you maximise both the short and long term costs?
