Look at the ingredients on a can of soda,you see things like high fructose corn syrup and/or cane sugar
Products made with oils will usually list several types of oil-this off a bag of white rounds [garden of eatin]
expeller pressed canola oil and/or safflower oil and/or sunflower oil-they look for good buys and if it's a reputable firm they also take into account quality issues-freshness,etc-
It isn't all the same game as you see in a cookbook-they experiment with different ways of acheving the same flavour and quality because the markets are in constant flux.
