Another Weird Cat
I was driving home from work and hadn't gotten more than a block away when a cat crossed the road right at an intersection I was turning through. Couldn't have picked a worse spot to be in so I hit the brakes pretty hard so as not to hit him.
Oddly, the cat never did much in the way of react which was suprising. What was even more odd was the fact that he just stood there, in the middle of the road and looked back at me for a bit. Then, as if nothing had happened at all, he turned his head toward his original destination, and finished crossing the road right in front of me. He wasn't hurried and didn't increase his pace, just sauntered off the road.
I work in an industrial area with the closest house being a few km's away, across a few train tracks and a freeway. He was a collered cat so I'm sure someone owns him, but why he was there and how he got there seems strange to me. Also his demeaner seemed odd due to the fact that there's coyotes that roam the area and prolly racoons I'm betting.
