I have mixed feelings about a nursing home.

My grandmother has parkinsons and needed more care then my mother could provide for her at home so we had no other choice but to place her in one of these homes.

We did our research and thought we had found the best one to put her into. It was at first but then it changed management and that's where the nightmare began.

My grandmother died because of incompitant care. My grandmother could not move a muscle at all. They have these cloth lifters to move these types of patients. well, she fell out of it and hit the concrete floor. she had stitches in the back of her head, behind her knee and bruises on both arms.

When I seen her this way at the hospital, i was livid to say the least. I went to the nursing home and wanted to see the lifter they used for her and to talk to the idiot in charge. the lifter somehow disapeared and couldn't be found. The idiot told me that my grandmother moved and slipped out of it. I called him a lier right to his face and informed him that she hasn't moved a muscle in years. I brought a camera with me and took pictures of everything, including the "no staff" around anywhere!!

Another thing I was angry about is that her roomate also had parkinsons and couldn't talk. this woman wanted to talk so bad when i was there but couldn't get the words out.

We ended up suing the place and won. it wasn't much but at least we fought for my gramma who didn't have to die with all that pain from her injuries.

So, because of this, I don't trust nursing homes at all. I'd rather hire a full time nurse to care for my parents rather then send them to a place like that.

My grandmother died from her injuries a couple weeks later.
