Default Heart Failure (From the news page)

From the Front Page @ Lifesupporters.com:

Scientists have discovered that an enzyme called phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI (3) K), that they believe is key to how the heart responds to stress or exercise. They believe that understanding this enzyme may help us better understand the exact causes of heart failure.

A quote from the article, "We've uncovered new details of the first step of heart failure, in which heart receptors that normally allow the heart to adapt in the face of changing conditions are lost, rendering the heart unable to pump enough blood to meet the needs of the body's other organs."
