What if I want to discuss the love lives of us Seniors, we do have them you know!

It may start off all lumped together under one category called Seniors Forum. In that forum you can talk about anything you want and if it's titled to fit into a future category such as:
- Menopause:
Health and Fitness
- Dating the dead:
Marriage and Dating
- Taking each day, one rascal scooter length at a time:
The Golden Years
If the posts are titled as obvious as above, they can be split into new sub-categories should traffic in the Senior Forum dictate the need for expansion.
If you've heard this before, please disregard the following, if not, then it's good knowledge.
To properly explain why I'm sticky at times in regards to new forums and categories, you need look no further than our Kid Forum. It has nothing going on in it which essentially makes it a waste of space. I know that sounds harsh but it is a fact. Now to view that forum, you have to use the wheel on your mouse and scroll to the bottom of the forums. The amount of scrolling involved depends on your screen resolution settings between monitor and video card.
This site (and all Lifesupporters.com Network sites) are constructed to fit best on 1024 x 768 but will work at 800 x 600. The lower your resolution 800 x 600 or less, the more scrolling required to see the entire site. This actually bothers more people than you think, myself being one of them, which is the reason for me trying to keep the forums as compressed as possible.
For those of you who've been around a while, you'll remember a time when we had many more forums, a number of which rarely saw new posts. I don't believe this is a formula for building a thriving web community so if I see a dead forum, I'll either eliminate it or combine it with another forum and adjust the title accordingly.
In case your wondering, we still do have the kid forum but more for the reason that this site is marketed as a "Family Friendly Site". I can't market a site like this, stating it's safe for all ages and not have an area for kids. I could but it would look kinda funny.
Does the above make any sense? I hope it comes across merely as informative instead of ignorant as I think it does. To be honest with everyone here, I love this place and have put a fair chunk of my life into it. It's been awesome as I have such great members and more content than many sites that have been online 5 times as long (look around, you'll be amazed). In order to keep growing this site though, I really want to offer relavent content that gets people posting in busy forums. Expanding to include topics that we currently have no audience for without a trial run is a step backward instead of forward IMHO.
Of course, all of this is open for your comments which I'd love you all to feel free to express.
Sincerely,
Ken
