But why are politicians hiding behind similar excuses? As "the safety system did not work" - DUH! No electronic system is 100% foolproof. They never take responsibility for their goof ups either. They all blame it on someone else, and in the end no one is held responsible. Yet they are still paid salaries that reflect responsibility.
Over here, there is a large chunk of thruth in the following: "if you are corrupt you are allowed to keep your seat in parliament. If not you are worked out of the parliament!" Sadly, I can't deny it. Does it take a genius then, to see why a lot of people don't have any trust in the parliamentary system, and its representatives?
And punishments for the most are severe, but misdirected. You seem to be punished heavier for using hard drugs, than for killing someone.
We are currently in the process of expelling 26,000 refugees. A decent procedure is
not required by the Dutch state. So why does the Dutch State demand of its citizens to not break the law, if they are shunning that idea themselves?
The whole issue about illegal downloading of music for instance. Research has shown that pricing is the most important cause of that. Would you really expect a 15-year old to spend the equivalent of $30 on 10 songs? Especially if less than $2 is for the artist?
As for anger / rage? It happened 30 years ago too. But people accepted that. If you grabbed a woman's ass, you received a punch in the face. Simple as that.
