In the Netherlands we have made the changes too. Loo and behold, donating rates have declined so drastically that there is an actual shortage of sperm-donors.
As for the drive to know who your real parents are, it is estimated that fully 10% of the children have a father different than the person they call daddy. What happened to the rights of these children? And probably in most cases the mother does know who the father is.
