I think I am a bit overcompetitive, LOL, but I take care NOT to dress like a hooker. Medium high heels and a skirt don't equal high heels, but I think I understand what you mean.
When I have been to Washington I went out a bit and indeed, there is a totally different frame of mind as far as almost everything regarding men and women goes: from relationship, to dress codes, to friendship. Very different. LEt's say you are right, there are plenty plenty of women ready to proposition interesting things to fine looking men in bars. I mean it, I don't go to the wrong part of town and what I feel is this... agressivity almost when opposite sexes interact, especially given this type of place.
On the other hand, yes, we are talking about the classic one night stand approach, but still.
I didn't mean to analyse your post, my point was simply that it takes soooo much more effort to a girl to look nice than one would think and even more intelligence to give the right and not the wrong impression, as you've tried to suggest it.

P.S. I was only a bit pissed because I spent all day yesterday crossing PAris from one place to another, and I had to look nice because I was getting my papers for my internship signed. I was dead beat when I arrived home
