I don't know the tenants laws where you are but here I do know them inside and out as I was representing landlords when I was a building manager.
By a contract, you mean you have a lease right? probably a yearly lease? If your name is on that lease and signed by you, then they cannot kick you out as the apartment is as much yours as it is theirs. As for your lease running out. Does that mean that it's close to renewal time? If so, they still can't kick you out without you asking the management to have you removed from the lease.
Renewal here means that you get an actual renewal paper (N1 as they are here in Ontario). They have to be signed with all people who are listed on the lease. So, they can't kick you out.
Is there a management you can ask about all of this? If the tenants laws are different in your country then in ours, it might be a good idea to ask and see what your rights are as a roomate. It's always a very good thing to know your rights as a tenant. :wink:
