Suspect takes off pants during chase
By the Dayton Daily News
FAIRBORN | An intoxicated man took off his pants in an attempt to trick a police officer who was chasing him on foot through a field, Fairborn police said Thursday.
"He attempted to change his physical appearance by removing clothing," Capt. Doctor Plemmons said.
The officer, not fooled by John M. Busbee's act, quickly caught and arrested him, Plemmons and Sgt. Mark Stannard said. The arresting officer tried to stop Busbee, 32, of Fairborn after seeing him drive a 2005 Toyota Camry 58 mph in a 35-mph zone on Yellow Springs Road near Zapata Drive.
Busbee rear-ended an SUV when the officer pulled behind him, Stannard said, got out of his car after knocking over a sign and ran, police said. Busbee was treated at Greene Memorial Hospital for a head injury, then taken to the city jail.
He is charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated, driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to comply with the order of a police officer.
