Like I said....I'm a true believer in net relationships. I prefer it over first time face to face meetings. You can know a lot about a person by the words they use, their humor content and how well they communicate.
In your case, Paul, you know the person.
When you've never met the person face to face....there's a tendency of filling in the blanks with your personal preferences and build the person into someone they can't live up to. This is the only drawback I've ever ran into.
I can also say that I've dated LOTS of guys through the years who I originally met online in one capacity or the other and have never had a 'bad story' or some wierdo! They were great guys in their own right and most of us remained friends.
