Life Support E-mail

The term life support is usually left for sustaining a patients life when one of their vital organs is no longerFamily Matters functioning correctly. While I can see the connection for terming this form of treatment as "life support" the question that begs to be asked is, what about the years leading up to this?

Can the term life support also include all the times in ones life when support was required be it physical, psychological, emotional and/or spiritual? By my way of thinking, if you can't solve the issue on your own, getting outside help or support is helping to better your life in some way, shape or form; thus life support.

Keeping all the above in mind, we've begun work on a comprehensive Life Support directory which will eventually cover all social issues we may experience throughout our lives. We hope to define, discuss and help point those in need to specific resources for additional information as well as professional help outlets. We're still quite early in the building process as we're currently defining all the topics we'll cover in our Life Support directory. For those of you interested, you can review and respond (registration required) in our Life Support forum topic.
